What To Expect
You're ready make moves. Let's do this. Here's what happens next:
- You head on over to the Client Portal to schedule your free 20 minute phone consultation. I'll ask you a few questions about what brings you to therapy, and we'll see if we are a good fit. We'll also talk about being good practical fit considering our schedules and fees.
- If everything's all good, we'll set our first appointment. I'll send you an email through the Client Portal to complete and sign the intake paperwork. It's nice to have that out of the way before we meet. The paperwork takes about 20 minutes depending on how much you'd like to share before hand.
- At the first session, we'll review the paperwork, and I'll answer any questions you have. After that, we'll start wherever you want, and take it from there. I'll make sure I'm clear on any goals you might have, so we can stay grounded in our work together. At the end of our session, I'll ask you how you felt about it, and if you'd like to meet again.
What I'm Like In Therapy
I know that talking to someone you don’t know can be weird or intimidating. No worries. I have a laid back, informal style. I use casual language, nothing fancy (including cursing for emphasis sometimes). I’m not going to sit and stare at you with a blank face and only say “uh huh” and “mmm hmm” the whole time. I’m human with feelings too. I show emotion, and I provide my reflections of what you are sharing with me. I ask a lot of questions, so I can make sure I’m really understanding you. Also, I’m kinda goofy, and we’ll laugh together too.
The most important thing to me is that you feel like you are getting the most out of our work together. So I often make space to ask how you are feeling about therapy, and me as your therapist. I encourage you to bring up thoughts and feelings about how you are experiencing our work together, so I know I how I can be as helpful as possible to reach your goals.
I want to hear from you. Let's get your free consultation scheduled.
