Therapy is an investment, and the return is a better quality of life
Therapy is a commitment. It takes time and money. It involves putting in work in and out of session, and being real with your therapist and yourself, even when it's hard and uncomfortable.

Ongoing sessions after the intake appointment are 50 minutes. I ask my clients to commit to weekly sessions for our first 3 months together to ensure we set a solid foundation, and so I can get the best picture of where you are coming from, and how I can help. Insurance
I do not participate with any insurance panels and am considered an out-of-network provider.
However, through your insurance, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for our sessions. I am happy to provide you with a monthly “superbill” which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You will need to contact your insurance carrier directly to determine if they will cover a portion of my fees as an out-of-network provider. Please note, providing a "superbill" would require me to provide your insurance company with a mental health diagnosis for you, which will be a part of your permanent medical record. Here are some questions you can ask your insurance provider:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is the benefit for out-of-network providers?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Why don't I accept insurance? Because being an out of network provider allows me to be the most flexible with your treatment and as confidential as possible.
Sure, using insurance is less cost out of pocket, but the process of using your insurance is not completely confidential and creates barriers for quality treatment. Insurance companies dictate things like length of treatment and sessions, and require that you are diagnosed with a mental health disorder for therapy to be paid for. A mental health diagnosis remains permanently on your health record. Insurance companies also have access to know why you are going to therapy and what progress you are making. They have the right to audit your therapy files ¬es, and ask questions of your therapist about your treatment.
By bypassing insurance, I am able to keep your records secure & confidential, without limitations of an insurance company, ensuring you quality treatment you deserve.
